The thing I love the most about music is the creativity of it. Music has been the number one way of expressing our feelings/emotions. This began in 800 B.C. from writing cuneiform to hymns, to pop, R&B, country, gospel, to many more genres of music. Many artists started with the hand clap for a beat to now a soundtrack in a music video.
Music always has a specific meaning to it, it could be love, anger, sadness, depression, suicide, family, etc. Artists can make this type of music because they want to be able to make sure it connects with their fans. Music is a big part of people’s lives, they either use it to entertain, communicate, concentrate and calm their nerves.
Honestly without music, we wouldn’t be able to express ourselves. Some music has a very big role in our lives, it is something I can connect to and something I can relate to at each moment of our lives. One of the songs I can relate to is Broke by Riley Clemons.
“Yeah I know I am messed up
I’m not ashamed of it
I’m not afraid of it
‘Cause I know that your love
Oh, I was made for it
Lord, I’ve prayed for it
The flaws and the scars, they say I should change
The pressure of perfection, weighing on my brain
They can’t bring me down. ’cause I know my worth now.
With you, I don’t need to hide
That I’m a little broke inside
You love me when I’m broke inside
‘Cause you see my light
Even in my darkest times
You love me when I’m broke inside
When the pain pulls me under
I am saved in it
I found my faith in it
‘m amazed and I wonder
How I’m good enough
For this perfect love
The flaws and the scars, they say I should change
The pressure of perfection, weighing down on my brain
They can’t bring me down, ’cause I know my worth now.
With you, I don’t need to hide
That I’m a little broke inside
‘Cause you see my light
Even in my darkest times
You love me when I’m broke inside
When I can’t love myself
You love me like no one else
You’re all I hold onto
Nothing else gets me through
When I can’t love myself
You love me like no one else
You’re all I hold onto
Nothing else gets me through
With you, I don’t need to hide
That I’m a little broke inside
You love me when I’m broke inside
‘Cause you see my light
Even in my darkest times
You love me when I’m broke inside.”
