Uprising of The New Generation

The new generation creates an incredible impact on the world, many become to be great part of society and others create organized criminal groups that poison and hurt the society world wide. For example, one current active new generation cartel is more violent and have worsen upon the old school mafia which is “Cartel de Jalisco Nueva Generation” (that stands for new generation cartel of Jalisco).

This group of criminals is led by a violent, one of most wanted fugitives of the DEA Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes Alias “El Mancho”. His birth place is in the ruins of the community of Naranjo de Chila in Aguililla, Michoacán, Mexico in 17 July 1966. Later in 1986, he lived in the San Francisco Bay Area. He was arrested by the San Francisco Police at the age of 19 for stolen property and carrying a loaded gun.

As he rose to his leadership, he first was part of the Milenio Cartel. He started as a member of a assassin squad that was in charge of the security of the drug lord Armando Valencia Cornelio alias “El Maradona” back in August 12, 2003. Around that same time his boss was arrested and the rival group known as “Los Zetas” that back up the cartel del golfo- attacked and assaulted violently the Milenio cartel in Michoacan land. After his patrons downfall, the cartel split into 2 groups

One side was known as La Resistencia, the other was Los Torcidos, headed by El Mencho. Later on they went to war and won. Towards their victory they took control of western mexico and renamed them as CJNG. They extorted Mexican authorities, rival families and cartels and traffic narcotics to the U.S, Europe and Asia.

Deadliest Bullet

When it comes to firearms, it can be very convincing to have great knowledge but when it comes to the type of ammunition most experts know, its all about the bullet that’s being fired out of the barrel of the weapon. There’s many different caliber but each ones has around 5 or more different type of bullets per caliber. Most common types of ammo is known to be full metal jacket(FMJ), hallow points, lead, brass, buck/bird-shot, and slugs. But these kinds off ammo is or could be the deadliest bullet coming your way.

Caliber is a big roll depending on what you’re using it against. The smallest you could commonly find would be a .22 but there are different variants of them. One of the biggest handgun bullet in the market right now would be a 500 magnum. Usually fired out of a Smith n Wesson 12 inch barrel. Extreme “Penetrators” is the name of bullet made out of solid brass and have a very good chance of penetrating armor.

Now the worse thing you can ever get by is the bullet called R.I.P. or Radically Invasive Projectile. The rounds are known to leave a 9-wound channel internally and take out all vital organ with a center mass hit creating to explode upon impact of the surface and the projectiles scatter in nine different directions inside the body. These are upon the most deadliest round you can encounter and take out your target with one solid hit.

My Weekend

My weekend starts on a Thursday due to the fact that there is no school on Fridays, which I think is great! Last Thursday, my friends and I ate out. I needed a long nap after that.

On Friday I cleaned my house and went shopping during the day. That night my friends came over and we had pizza and watched many movies. I had been waiting for it to be Saturday for a while because we had planned to go to Nogales to visit my great grandmother (who is 97 years old). The ride there and back was very fun. We took my grandma to eat then I got my nails done too (cheaper in Mexico than U.S.A.).

When we got back, I invited all of my friends over and my mom made us shrimp tacos! We went to bed at 3 am the following day. Sunday was rest day for my mom and I and we just binged on Netflix movies.

Iliana’s Advice

Dear Iliana,

Why doesn’t the school throw a party for those who are on track as an award?

Alex L.

Dear Alex,

I think it is a great idea! Bringing kids together to have fun and make new friends sounds nice and something different. Here are some of the students’ and teachers’ thoughts on the topic:

“We should have one, honestly- we don’t do anything that public schools do.” ~Jasmine M.

“The school doesn’t do events so a dance would be nice.” ~Elijah M.

“It’s a good idea since all the kids are on computers. It would be nice to get to know other       students.” ~Ms. Wall

“I think it is a limited construct for students in the school and will be nice to have an event happening in the school.” ~Mr. Cordenner

“I think it is unfair for people who want a dance.” ~Roman M.

“it’d be nice for kids like it would help keep students in school,  also come back to school again.” ~Ms. Salaz

I Am Camila

Today I’ll be writing about myself, a little introduction. I am a freshman, about to turn 15. The only reason I come to Pima Rose Academy is because I was doing bad at Cholla High School. I wouldn’t go to class- I would always leave school. I was also hanging out with the wrong crowd of people. I have made many friends since I started school here. It isn’t the best place to come to school but I really like it here, it is much easier.

I am Hispanic; my mom was born in Nogales, Sonora but was raised here in Tucson. My dad was born and raised in Naco, Sonora. I have a very big family- 6 siblings to be exact. Growing up, I was a very happy child; I grew up with both parents around very hard working and supportive. As time passed by, my parents went their own separate ways.

During the weekends, I’m usually hanging out with friends or family… if not sleeping (I love sleep). On weekdays after school I usually leave with my friends and we go out for ice cream. Today after school we are going to get some wings!

Why Did Danny Worsnop Leave Asking Alexandria

On January 22, 2015, Danny Worsnop had talked about his departure from the band, Asking Alexandria. Danny Worsnop stated that “He wants what’s best for the band”. He is leaving to now focus on his new band “We Are Harlot”, but non the less Asking Alexandria will be touring and also recording a new album-despite no other announcements have been made about the bands replacement. Fans were not happy because they believed that Danny was the essential to the band’s sound. Other’s on the other hand were not surprised by the career choice. As far to say that he sounds and performs better in his new band We Are Harlot then he did with Asking Alexandria. Danny himself has made it clear that he loved being a part of Asking Alexandria but he didn’t want to keep creating heavy metal music, saying that even if he hadn’t been part of We Are Harlot he would have left the band anyway. Danny further commented the he also grew apart from the rest of the band musically and had reached a point where he wanted to be able to do different things: to change from a heavy metal band to a rock band. Ben Bruce the guitarist of Asking Alexandria had admitted that the band was doing great since Danny’s departure, although Danny continued to show support for the band after they released their new album “I Won’t Give In”, featuring Denis Stoff as the main vocalist with a positive response on his social media page. When Danny was asked if he would ever make heavy metal music again online and he responded with, “Not opposed to it, but nothing planned at this point in time.” On October 21, 2016, Ben Bruce confirmed that Danny has reunited with asking Alexandria after parting ways with Stoff after around 18 months.-by Jasmine Parra

Music Production, 10 Tips On The Very Basics For All Aspiring Artists And Producers

Music Production, 10 Tips On The Very Basics For All Aspiring Artists And Producers

 By Trevor Manning

  1. “It Is Better To Move Slow & High Quality Than To Move Fast And Mediocre.”

On this note, I want to stress how important it is that everything you call “your art” is acceptable by anyone who fits your demographic that is your target audience. If you don’t take it seriously they won’t either. Make sure its High Quality. Make sure it’s presentable before it’s acceptable.

  • “Make Sure You Know What You Want, And Go Get It.”

If you want it, go get it. Simple!

  • “Get Started, it is Never Too Late.”

This one is self-explanatory, a lot of stuff looks good on paper, but you got to actually get your feet wet before you can see what you’re working with, and where you’re at.

  • “Be Consistent.”

Don’t get started, just to quit or take a break a couple days later. Stay on it, or your audience will go elsewhere for the content they want. And it’s not hard, but not that easy to get them back once that happens.

  • “If Something Doesn’t Work The First 2 weeks, it’s not going to work that 3rd week”

This one will save you a lot of time, just know when a project or song or artwork needs to be reset, or started over.

  • “Don’t Do It For The Money.”

You will be spending money, it is possible to make money, but you will be spending money for your first couple albums, mixtapes, etc.

  • “Be You, Original, and Real.”

People can tell if you are fake. It is not appreciated. It is not going to get you where you want. And even if it does, you should never want to be fake to get somewhere. So keep it real, you’ll have a better shot.  People appreciate authenticity and who knows, maybe you’ll gain a couple more fans being authentic than if you were trying to be like someone else.

  • “You Can’t Rush Art.”

This one speaks for itself, but if you didn’t get it the first time, I got you.

It is better to take your time than to rush it. Refer to tip number “1”.

  • “By Failing to Prepare, You’re Preparing To Fail.”

Make sure you know what all equipment you need, as well as training and tips, and organization.

  1. “Be Organized.”

If you are organized, you will kill this game.

Broke by Riley Clemmons

The thing I love the most about music is the creativity of it. Music has been the number one way of expressing our feelings/emotions. This began in 800 B.C. from writing cuneiform to hymns, to pop, R&B, country, gospel, to many more genres of music. Many artists started with the hand clap for a beat to now a soundtrack in a music video.

Music always has a specific meaning to it, it could be love, anger, sadness, depression, suicide, family, etc. Artists can make this type of music because they want to be able to make sure it connects with their fans. Music is a big part of people’s lives, they either use it to entertain, communicate, concentrate and calm their nerves.

Honestly without music, we wouldn’t be able to express ourselves. Some music has a very big role in our lives, it is something I can connect to and something I can relate to at each moment of our lives. One of the songs I can relate to is Broke by Riley Clemons.

“Yeah I know I am messed up

I’m not ashamed of it

I’m not afraid of it

‘Cause I know that your love

Oh, I was made for it

Lord, I’ve prayed for it

The flaws and the scars, they say I should change

The pressure of perfection, weighing on my brain

They can’t bring me down. ’cause I know my worth now.

With you, I don’t need to hide

That I’m a little broke inside

You love me when I’m broke inside

‘Cause you see my light

Even in my darkest times

You love me when I’m broke inside

When the pain pulls me under

I am saved in it

I found my faith in it

‘m amazed and I wonder

How I’m good enough

For this perfect love

The flaws and the scars, they say I should change

The pressure of perfection, weighing down on my brain

They can’t bring me down, ’cause I know my worth now.

With you, I don’t need to hide

That I’m a little broke inside

‘Cause you see my light

Even in my darkest times

You love me when I’m broke inside

When I can’t love myself

You love me like no one else

You’re all I hold onto

Nothing else gets me through

When I can’t love myself

You love me like no one else

You’re all I hold onto

Nothing else gets me through

With you, I don’t need to hide

That I’m a little broke inside

You love me when I’m broke inside

‘Cause you see my light

Even in my darkest times

You love me when I’m broke inside.”

Survey: Are Students on their Phone More than their Computers?

Survey: Are Students on their Phone More than their Computers?

By: Trevor Manning

The average amount of lessons getting done per week is around 1-2. This is believed to be due to the fact most students are on their phones. For the journalism project we chose to survey random students and get their opinions on what they thought concerning teachers taking our phones after hearing this information. We surveyed 27 kids to get their opinion on cell phone usage within the walls of PRA.

Based on a poll of 27 kids’ responses chosen randomly here are what the students’ said to this question: “Do you think our phones should be taken away to increase our productivity, and if not, why?” 22% of students replied that yes phones should be taken away, their reasoning was students need “Less Freedom.”  Another 22% replied with a straight “No.” However, 7% of students surveyed said “We need more freedom.” The final 48% stated “We should each be responsible for ourselves.”

In this reporters opinion the students here do need more guidance and less freedom to use their phones throughout the day.  While some students remain on task they should be able to keep their phones and use it as a reward system.  Until this question gets answered and finished tasks go up, this is Trevor Manning live from PRA, saying do more work!

The Corona Virus: History & Where it’s at Right Now

The Corona Virus: History & Where it’s at Right Now

By: Trevor Manning

Coronavirus is a large family of viruses commonly found in animals. There are different types of coronaviruses. The symptoms of a coronavirus include pneumonia or bronchitis. The difference between the coronavirus we are facing now and the coronavirus we have known about, is that scientists tell us this is something that we’ve never seen before. We are still trying to find out reasons for the modern outbreak. The most likely reason is that a market for seafood in Wuhan started with some type of animal.

Symptoms of the coronavirus include fever, coughing, shortness of breath after about 2-14 days of possessing the virus, and pneumonia. Many patients have died since the virus has spread. However, the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) have alerted the people to call their health care provider. The following link is a list of steps to take with persons who are confirmed or have been suspected of becoming infected with the corona virus. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/hcp/guidance-prevent-spread.html

So far, what we know is that it is spreading through China, and some of their neighboring countries. Although, locally it is said that someone from the gem show brought the corona virus to Tucson, Arizona recently.  According to Business Insider a person in Maricopa County is currently in isolation.[1]

So to summarize the steps you can take to prevent becoming infected with the corona virus include:

  1. You should restrict activities outside your home, except for getting medical care. Do not go to work, school, or public areas
  2. As much as possible, you should stay in a specific room and away from other people in your home. Also, you should use a separate bathroom, if available.
  3. If you have a medical appointment, call the healthcare provider and tell them that you have or may the corona virus. This will help the healthcare provider’s office take steps to keep other people from getting infected or exposed.
  4. You should wear a facemask when you are around other people, a room or vehicle, & before you enter a healthcare provider’s office. If you are not able to wear a facemask, because it causes trouble breathing, then people who live with you should not stay in the same room with you, or they should wear a facemask if they enter your room.
  5. Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw used tissues in a lined trash can and wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, immediately clean your hands with an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol, covering all surfaces of your hands and rubbing them together until they feel dry. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  6. You should not share dishes, drinking glasses, cups, eating utensils, towels, or bedding with other people in your home. After using these items, they should be washed thoroughly with soap and water.
  7. Seek prompt medical attention if your illness is worsening (e.g., shortness of breath or difficulty breathing). Before seeking care, call your healthcare provider and tell them that you have, or are being evaluated for the corona virus. Put on a facemask before you enter the facility. These steps will help the healthcare provider’s office to keep other people from getting infected or exposed. Ask your healthcare provider to call the local or state health department. Persons who are placed under active monitoring or facilitated self-monitoring should follow instructions provided by their local health department or occupational health professionals, as appropriate.
  8. Patients confirmed with the corona virus should remain under home isolation precautions until the risk of secondary transmission to others is thought to be low. The decision to discontinue home isolation precautions should be made on a case-by-case basis, in consultation with healthcare providers and state and local health departments.

This is Trevor Manning reporting from PRA, reminding everyone out there to stay vigilant and healthy.
